I'm trying to make a fun summer mix cd. Any suggestions? I'm really trying to make something not country and not melancholy. It's a little tough considering my musical preferences.
Listened to any podcasts on iTunes? There's so much cool stuff out there that you would probably never hear otherwise; I usually download one podcast at a time but there are some I subscribe to. The Bored-Again Christan has some interesting alternative/indie Christian music, for example.
I would have to put the Gorillaz DARE if I made a summer mix right now. Maybe add something from Ben's Chemical Brothers collection, Massive Attack's Teardrop, Nickel Creek's Helena or Green and Gray, Shakira's Eyes Like Yours, Lady with the Spinning Head or City of Blinding Lights or The Ground Beneath Her Feet or the Dirty Day remix, The Man Comes Around, Honey from Moby's Play, the Beastie Boys' Body Movin, Ben Harper's Better Way and maybe even something snappy by Michael Buble.
There's a newish radio station in Denver called Martini on the Rockies that plays lounge music, and it's fun to listen to.
wow. thanks. i have never listened to any podcast. it still feels like a futuristic word to me, but maybe i'll try and be more hip. I just burned my first cd on my own a couple of weeks ago.
OK Linda I told you I did this and you interrupted me on the phone and I don't know where my original post went...ahem-just fun

Have you ever tried Pandora.com? It's a pretty neat site!
I'm a little confused. Half the fun is turning your radio up too loud.

JEO likes anything by the B52's and the Swirling Eddies. He thinks that no other band should exist - what's the point?
JEO is such a retro guy.
